Whowolf

Player guide

Werewolf at the table, everyone on their own phone, and the app tells the story. Here is everything you need for your first round: short, honest and free of tech talk, unless you want it.

  • 3–20players, best from 5
  • 1device per person
  • 0accounts, ads, trackers

Whowolf is an early test version: playable and encrypted, but may still be rough around the edges.

A round in one minute

  1. Someone opens a room. One phone taps “Open a room” and becomes the host. It plays along like everyone else.
  2. Everyone else joins. They tap “Join a room” and then the room that shows up there, or scan the QR code on the host’s screen.
  3. Everyone picks a figure. It is only how you look at the table and says nothing about your role.
  4. Roles are dealt in secret. Everyone looks at their own phone alone: village or werewolf?
  5. At night, everyone taps. The werewolves pick a victim, the seer looks into someone, everyone else counts sheep. From the outside, it all looks the same.
  6. By day you talk, then you vote. You argue at the table, the app counts. This goes on until the village has found every werewolf or the werewolves have taken over.
